When people think of the Electric Daisy Carnival, they automatically think of electronic music, drugs, and kids in rave clothes. However, those three words have much more depth than that for me. I attended the Electric Daisy Carnival during the summer of 2015 in the middle of the Nevada desert - aka 110 degree heat. I attended all three nights completely sober, and I cannot even begin to explain the amount of love and acceptance that was found in this MAGICAL place. When you enter the gates of EDC, you feel nothing but free of your anxieties and worries - free of judgement, hate, discrimination, and everything bad under the sun. The tens of thousands of people that I met there showed nothing but complete care for all of the strangers around them, and I felt instantly like I was in a safe haven. This place is more than just a rave.... it is a place where you can go to feel like you belong in this world, and that is something to be said for.
