Before studying abroad in Sevilla, a few girls from my group and I stopped in Paris for a few days to explore the city. I cannot even begin to describe how much growth this little short trip gave to me. I've flown internationally before, but never alone, and i was a nervous wreck. The fact that I drank red wine on a flight to Paris, got in a taxi to my hostel upon arrival, and navigated the city for a full day on my own really proved to me the kind of intellect and independence that I truly hold within me. It reminded me that I can do anything i set my mind to, and to be afraid to do so is simply due to my comfort zone. Breaking a comfort zone has always been such a frightening, yet blissful experience for me, and I have to say that all within that short trip -- i had the absolute time of my life. I can't compare it to any other trip i've ever been on, even having been to Paris once before. I cannot wait to take loved ones back to that fancy city, and explore it yet another time. Although the locals are rude from time to time, there are many nice ones to balance them out, and the food is outrageously delicious so it always makes things better. I drank Rosé and champagne from the bottle underneath the Eiffel Tower, I accidentally stumbled upon the Louvre and took a nap outside of it, I watched a husky splash through the fancy fountains at the Louvre, I ate French pastries & espresso like i had the stomach for it, and I skipped through the streets of Paris like i knew what i was doing. My life is forever changed. Thank you world, and cheers, for allowing me to get lost in wanderlust.
